About Me

Name: Fernando Garza Lara
DOB: 09-26-1976
Current Location: Lewes, Delaware. USA.

I grew up in Mexico surrounded by lots of great friends and an awesome family. At a very early age I discovered my love for art and design. I began practicing and drawing everyday on my own, learning new techniques all the time. After I graduated from high school it was no question what I was going to study in college. I followed my passion and majored in Graphic Art at Macrel Art Institute in Monterrey, Mexico.

After graduation I was invited to become a teacher at the same school, where I ended up teaching character design, concept art techniques, and storyboarding for a while.

After working on several different projects, I decided to go back to school for a second degree that I could combine with my Graphic Arts career. I returned and majored in Communications and Mass Media. Going back for a second degree was an amazing experience because I spent my time getting to know great friends and teachers. At the same time that I was studying my second degree I was also playing in a rock band. We used to play in several live music clubs on the weekends, having an awesome time and rocking ourselves to the top.

A couple years later I met my lovely wife Heather, and we decided to move to Lewes, Delaware where we currently reside.
I am currently working as a concept artist at decalgirl.com creating original concepts and artwork that are transformed into skins that customize different gaming consoles and personal electronic devices.

I love watching science fiction films, action movies, animation and all those great movies that make you feel good. I also consider myself a CRAZY video games fan. One thing I really enjoy is playing online with friends and family. IRALOS!

I'm a very huge fan of art in general. Every time that I have the chance I sit my ass down and start to create something new, something fun and dynamic. And that's how I consider my style and I'm always looking forward to reflect those things in my drawings and concepts.

One of my biggest interests is character creation and concept art. And I consider my style chameleonic. I guess that all the places that I've been and all the different people I've met influence my style. Sometimes I create very dark matte finished characters or environments and sometimes I draw nice and cute plain colored ones.

But I'm definitely on the look out for new things and I'm always trying to learn more and meet new people.

I'm so available and ready to keep growing as a graphic artist but mostly as a human being, so please if you consider that I can help with your project or you think that I should be working with you, please let me know. I'll be honored meeting you.
